Mount Horeb comes alive in the winter! Hit the slopes at Tyrol Basin for some skiing, snowboarding, or snow tubing! Strap on your snowshoes or crosscountry skis and explore the wonders of Stewart Lake County Park, Brigham County Park, Donald County Park, or Blue Mound State Park. It's always 50 degrees inside Cave of the Mounds, which is open for tours year-round.
Mount Horeb's historic downtown is filled with unique shops and one-of-a-kind restaurants. Stop in at the Driftless Historium and experience this award-winning history museum. And of course, be sure to snap plenty of selfies with the 36 friendly trolls who guide you through the Troll Capital of the World.
Our carved trolls are known to relax while watering flowers, tending chickens, playing music or just plain ol’ hamming it up for your viewing pleasure! They protect the hidden gems of Mount Horeb. In our case, they guard the friendly people and wonderful attractions of our community!
Did you know? The Mount Horeb area is home to makers and creators of all kinds! From handmade chocolate to soaps made from goats milk, you'll find something unique and made with love.
