Tourism marketing content for Visit Mount Horeb is developed in alignment with our annual marketing strategy, Travel Wisconsin's destination development priorities, current travel trends, and visitor data. Content selection is driven by strategic fit, seasonal relevance, and tourism impact — not by Chamber membership status. All Mount Horeb businesses are welcome to submit events, news, and photos for consideration through the submission link below.

We're always looking for authentic, high-quality images that capture what makes this place special. Here's what works well:

  • Natural light wins. Morning and golden hour shots show the Trollway, downtown storefronts, and the Driftless landscape at their most photogenic. Avoid heavy flash or midday harsh shadows.
  • Include the trolls — they're the stars. Photos featuring the troll statues perform exceptionally well. Get creative with angles, seasons, and perspectives.
  • Show people experiencing the place. Candid moments — someone reading at a café, biking the Military Ridge Trail, browsing a shop — tell a richer story than empty scenes.
  • Horizontal (landscape) shots work best for website pages and blog posts. Vertical (portrait) shots perform better on social media. When in doubt, take both orientations — it gives us more flexibility to use your image across platforms.
  • Avoid heavy filters. We prefer true-to-life color that reflects Mount Horeb's actual look and feel. Light editing is great; heavily filtered or faded images aren't a good fit.
  • What we love most: The Trollway, downtown storefronts, outdoor recreation (trails, Blue Mound, Driftless views), local food and drink, seasonal events, and people genuinely enjoying the village.
  • What doesn't fit our brand: Blurry or low-resolution images, photos with visible branding from other destinations, and anything that doesn't reflect Mount Horeb specifically.
